Description:

Hello skouliki

I need some new navbar buttons for my forum please because Forumotion has added a 'Publications' function which I am now using - but I haven't got a button for it, so I've been trying to make my own.

This is what my navbar looks like at the moment - but the text isn't clear and I've tried making my own buttons but I just cannot get black text to look crisp and clear - it looks pixelated and I don't like it.

Example:

The only colour that remotely works for me at the moment is the grey and I'm not keen on that either.

I also haven't got a decent font and nothing looks very nice except Arial.

The current navbar is borderline ok, but I'm not 100% happy with it and I don't have enough graphics knowledge, or the program needed, to make anything better. The whole image looks pixelated and I would love it if you could make me some new buttons please.

I would need:

Portal
Home
FAQ
Publications
Calendar
Events
Gallery
Search
Memberlist
Usergroups
Profile
Messages
New PM !  (possibly a different colour, or animated/slow flashing?)
Log out
Register

This is an example of what I've made so far and you can see how amateurish they are!

This one is nice, with the line under the word...

In fact that one looks really good if it could be in grey as it would look something like this:

Many thanks in advance skouliki Heart

Hello skouliki, I think I like this one best but I think the text needs to be a bit smaller - have you got the same font as in my amateur creation - and the button itself needs to be around the same size as my own as it might overpower the forum. But the colour is good.

That's a better size skouliki, but yes the text needs to be not bold, and slightly smaller. Can you do it with a dark grey border rather than black?

Can you try making one with a long word like 'Publications' so see how it fits please?

Wow, I really love these buttons skouliki !

I've pasted them into a screenshot to show you what they'd look like with a mixture of the black or grey text.

I think I prefer the grey text as it's more subtle than the black.

I think I prefer the calibri font.

I think I prefer the blue text 'New PM !' button - can you also make the button flash like this one please?

@Admin wrote:

I'm forever missing my PM's so it would be great to have it stand out !

Where I've put a red arrow pointing to the Portal button, there's a thick black line - presumably that won't be there when it's uploaded?

These are the buttons I will need please:

Portal
Home
FAQ
Publications
Calendar
Events
Gallery
Search
Memberlist
Usergroups
Profile
Messages
New PM !
Log out
Register

I think your forum looks beautiful - you're clearly very talented and have worked hard to get it looking so professional.  It took me ages, though, to work out how to log in and out !

You've also got a keen eye for detail - you always match the colours perfectly to what's already on my forum. You did that with the forum header too and now with the blue on the New PM button. Okey

Brilliant !

that thick line is not from the button i really dont know why it is there but will figure this out when you upload all the buttons maybe is some background border through css

well i have the option log in /log out from the toolbar but i guess i can make these 2 buttons on the left side / good suggestion thanks  Okey

so i will make the navbar / calibri/grey/ flash blue

Many thanks skouliki, they look great, I'll start uploading those now - only one is missing: Gallery

The black line on the Portal button is still there...and also on the log out/log in button.

The line is still there when I copy and paste onto Paint, but maybe it'll be different when I upload them to the forum.

Perhaps you can see why my graphics are so naff as I can only use Paint!

thats why ....
because you reload the buttons, the black line is the transparent gap the button has ..use directly my links so the buttons can look clear and not blurry
Your program can not reproduce the transparency
